Smerd collects junk food, but it doesn’t make him fat or unhealthy because he’s a magical dragon. Must be nice! His first appearance was in “Velocity Girl and Xuàn Hú: Shadows of Destiny” (paperback) (ebook) . He went on to star in “Smerd’s Book of ABC’s” (nominated for the Golden Duck Award that year) (paperback) (ebook) and “Smerd’s Book of Shapes and Colors” (paperback) (ebook). He currently appears in the ongoing web novels “The New Adventures of Velocity Girl and Smerd: Brave New World” and “Pocket Protectors: Heroes and Dragons“.

Starstorm has been associated with the Fothergill mage family of the Society of Sorcerers Born in Zorethea for many generations. As the pc’kit dragon of a mage family, he collects magic items (relics). He is currently bonded with George Fothergill, jr., aka “The Sciencemancer”and has just sired a clutch of eggs with Spitfire. Starstorm’s adventures in Zorethea can be read in “Rise of the Sciencemancer“. His meeting with Spitfire happens in the epilogue of “Field Team 42: Paranormal Responders“.

–Roxxie
Roxxie is Smerd’s girlfriend. She collects maps, but not just maps of Earth. She collects maps of many worlds and the network of portals between them. If you go on a hike with Roxxie, plan for it to take awhile and wear layers you can put on and remove as the temperature changes in different Zones. Roxxie appeared in “Smerd’s Book of Shapes and Colors” (paperback) (ebook) where she and Smerd encountered a Yellow Flower Monster. The heroic Uuughhh helped them deal with such a monster in “Pocket Protectors: Heroes and Dragons“.

–Spitfire
Spitfire works for Control, an organization that exists to protect the Earth from the paranormal and to maintain the illusion of normalcy for the world. She first appeared in “Field Team 42: Paranormal Responders“. She has recently laid a clutch of eggs with Starstorm. Spitfire collects technology.

–Icicle
Icicle has been displaced in time and space and has lost his best friend Don Espino de la Rosa. He collects memory crystals of the good times he shared with Don Espino. Icicle is the Parental Alienation Awareness Dragon. Several of his adventures with Don Espino de la Rosa are chronicled in “Don Espino de la Rosa and the Dinos of Dreadcastle“.

–Melody
Melody collects everything musical: original Mozart and Beethoven sheet music, Elvis’s autograph, alien musical instruments, Stradivarius violins, guitar picks used by the Grateful Dead, 1980’s boomboxes…you name it! She will liven up any concert. Melody has appeared in “Smerd’s Book of Shapes and Colors” (paperback) (ebook) as well as “Pocket Protectors: Heroes and Dragons”.
